This car has been standing in warm garage since 1996 after it was painted and maintained.
Removed from the road registry in 1997 because of leaking rear silencer and broken rear axle bearing. Now both of them replaced, and car was inspected and registered 19.9.2018 and it passed it without any notifications. Even the emission test was OK, engine is not burning oil etc. Gearbox was maintained, 2nd gear synchro and some bearings were replaced. Head was also maintained well, no ticking or other strange noises.
The exterior looks nice and straight and doesn’t seem to have had any mayor repairs, looks quite original and the places that need looking at are clearly visible in the photos. It has been resprayed in 1996 and there is minor color shade in the left rear panel for some reason.
Theres bubbles and rust in chrome parts, mainly in the side view mirrors and in the trunk lock.
Car came with original alloy wheels. There’s marking MAHLE-BBS, and also BMW marking is clearly visible so these rims are originally bought straight from BMW dealer. You can usually found these wheels only with MAHLE-BBS markings, but MAHLE-BBS-BMW are quite rare. Tires are old but they passed MOT, but I would replace them.
The interior in my opinion will need renewing.. The driver’s seat is worn, I haven’t bothered to remove the seat covers to check the rest. Roof lining is nice and can be left as is, but theres ofcourse hole for the aftermarket Finlandia-sunroof.
Engine bay/Boot area:
The engine bay is solid and in great condition, never been touched by the looks of it. Boot area is well covered against rust.
Looks really fine, never welded, but of course there’s surface rust in some places like rear sub frame. Exhaust needs replacing if you want it to be in top condition, like rear silencer and mid silencer.
