These early Notchbacks are becoming very rare and hard to find.
This Notch was sold new here in Finland and hasn’t had many owners, last time it was on the road was in 2016. It failed the yearly inspection (MOT/TUV) in 2016 due to some minor welding requirements, the then owner drove the car into warm storage and never found the time to have the repairs carried out.
When I collected the car recently, I wasn’t able to drive or start it as the battery was dry and faulty. After getting it back to my garage I replaced the battery and added some fresh fuel, surprisingly enough it started virtually straight away. I took it for a short drive, and everything is working fine, brakes, clutch all feel good.
I removed the nasty looking seat covers and luckily enough the original seats are in quite good condition for their age, interior is generally in good condition apart from the carpeted areas. Roof lining as some small holes and rips.
As you will see in the photos, this is a pretty car and is complete, but it does require some work.
Paint finish isn’t great.
Bodywork has signs of previous repairs.
Welding required to passenger’s side heater tunnel and hole in the outer seal, these are the obvious areas that I could see.
Will require a good service and checking out before any mayor use, due to standing for four years.
I have many detailed photos and a walk-around video that I can send you, these will explain the condition of the car much better.
