Audi Quattro Group 4 FIA

Audi had for a longer period wanted to participate in the World Rally Championship, and when FIA approved the use of four-wheel-drive in it’s big division, the group 4, it all started for the rally Quattro – a stiffened up, tuned and enhanced rally version of its road-going sibling.

Here we have a recently completed build with no expense spared, built using all correct homologated parts. The detail that has gone into this build is second to none.

It has been built to the Gr4 FIA 671 homologation certificate, following the date of the 1981 Audi factory racing cars. All the correct parts are fitted according to the classification, like Pierburg injection, correct gear ratios and stainless-steel exhaust system just to mention a few.

This build took around eight years to complete, the main holdup was trying to find the rare, classified parts.

The original Quattro donor car was purchased from Rome Italy in 2015 from the second owner, it was in great condition and did not require any repairs. Not long after the purchase, it was completely stripped in preparation for this fantastic Group 4 conversion. There are many photos throughout the build available, these will show the detail and build quality that has gone into this conversion.

FIA passport was issued on 01/02/2023, valid until the end of 2033.

It is also road registered with Finnish registration papers.

Since the build was completed, it has not been used for competition use, only setup on the dyno and some short test runs. Peak power measured 403 hp at 1.8 bar boost and 395 hp at 1.6 bar boost.

There is so much left unsaid about what has gone into this build, but the photos will tell the rest.
