Ford Escort Mk1 2.0 1968

This vehicle has been totally rebuilt using mainly new parts, it is a fantastic looking car that has just been inspected (MOT/TUV) and is road legal. 2.0l engine size has been listed on the registration.

Before any long road usage, the engine would need to be setup properly on the dyno. There could also be some other fine tunning required to suspension etc.

It has been used recently to attend some car shows, the comments and feedback have been very positive.

Below are some build details:

 

Body:

– Complete body glass-blown

– Sheet metal parts replaced: front floors, gearbox tunnel, rear extensions, front fenders, faceplate, tailplate, rear shock absorber towers

– Seams reinforced welded

– Epoxy primer

– Floor, interior, engine room and tailgate painted with polyurethane paint in black

– Surface colour Schwarz Grau

 

Suspension:

– Koni adjustable front coilovers with aluminium tops and aluminium hubs

– Reaction rods in front

– Adjustable control arms with unibal joints

– WC beam with hard bushes

– Single leaf springs in rear with urethane bushes

– RS control arms (not installed, can be included)

– Quick steering

– Rims: Minilight 8” and 9” wide, 13 inches

– Tires: front 185/60 R13, rear 235/45 R13 Nankang semi-slick

 

Engine:

– 2 l OHC engine (standard)

– 48 mm vertical Webers

– Martelius XL exhaust manifold with 2.5 inch pipe

– Five-speed gearbox type 9 with gear reducer

– RS-single-length prop

– Atlas axle with Lsdl

– New alternator and new starter

– 30 l safety tank in the rear box and electric fuel pump

– Battery in the rear box

 

Car interior:

– Standard door panels

– Standard rear seat

– Corbeau GT8 retro bucket seats in the front

– Deep suede steering wheel 330 mm

– Roof and floor covering missing
