Ford Escort Mk2 Zetec Sleeper
Do not be fooled by the standard look of this Mk2 Escort, a classic with hidden power.
It has been with its current owner since 1995. In 1997 it was totally striped, sandblasted and resprayed. Straight after the respray it was put into storage ready for the rebuild, due to other commitments though, this project did not start until 2021 when it was finally taken out of storage. The build was finished around a year ago in 2023.
Just been inspected (MOT/TUV) and is fully road worthy, road legal car.
Engine:
– Zetec SE 1.6 with dry sump, 220hp/189Nm.
-Fiesta R2 connecting rods, Wössner pistons.
-Head reworked by Kosunen here in Finland.
– Jenvey intake manifold, flapper bodies and nozzles
– Engine control unit: Hestec X32.
– RWD Motorsport flywheel, clutch and layout (power rating 350hp)
Gearing:
– Type 9 5-speed gearbox.
– RS prop shaft, 1 piece.
Axle:
– Big Atlas
-4.6 ratio.
-Lsd.
Suspension:
-RS large front legs, adjustable.
– RS cooled front discs.
– Rear disc brakes with Cosworth callipers.
– Bilstein dampers.
Interior:
– Floor covering renewed with original materials.
– Roof covering renewed with original materials.
-Upholstery of the benches renewed with original materials.
– Front and rear door panels renewed with original materials.
-Parcel shelf and C-pillar plastics renewed with original materials.
