Jensen Interceptor GT Mk I – Matching Numbers – Extensive Restoration – Exceptional History File

1968 Jensen Interceptor Mk I, chassis number 115/2860, a matching-numbers example that has been with its current owner and continuously improved for nearly 20 years.

This is an early Series I Interceptor accompanied by an exceptional history file including the factory build card, factory invoice, factory inspection sheets, warranty documentation and registration records.

Originally specified in Bitter Chocolate (now white) with Special Green trim. The rare Special Green interior remains one of the car’s most attractive features.

Powered by its original matching-numbers Chrysler 383 V8 and automatic transmission, the car drives very well and has benefited from extensive mechanical restoration over many years.

The interesting history

The first customer was: Charles Follett Ltd., Berkeley Street, Mayfair, London

Charles Follett was a well-known London bookselling and publishing business. The build card specifically lists: CUSTOMER: CHARLES FOLLETT

which strongly suggests the car was supplied directly to the company or a principal associated with it.

The guarantee letter dated 21 May 1968 was sent to: W. Bannister Ltd., Lancashire which was a Jensen distributor/dealer.

Restoration and Mechanical Work
