Porsche 356A Coupe T2 RHD

Very rare in RHD, around only 5% of the total production number were right hand drive. To have one in black in 1958 was also quite rare, around 4%.

• Interior red vinyl, lobster red.

• Bumpers American bumpers.

This Porsche was brought to Finland in the 1980’s from South Africa, the then owner moved to Finland and brought the car with him.

American bumpers and a mileage meter are fitted, which was typical for cars exported to South Africa.

Not long after in 1986 it was registered on the Finnish Museum register.

Over the last ten year it has undergone a restoration. The body was sanded clean, welded, painted with the original colour number 701 black inside and out.

Interior reupholstered with materials and colours similar to the original.

Almost all aluminium mouldings and rubbers have been renewed.

Almost all bolts, nuts and screws have been replaced with stainless ones.

Many other parts have also been replaced or refurbished.

Driven around 5,000 km since the restoration.

Body Matching number

The body panels are original, which have been repaired if necessary. the rims are also original.

Engine: 1600cc 60hp 4-cylinder boxer.

The engine is not original, not machining numbers (original number between 68217-72468).

It is an original replacement engine made in 1958 that was replaced by a broken one. The letter Y on the side of the block

Markings on the inside of the aluminium blocks: 616.01.157 11/58, 616.01.158 11/58, 616.01.147

The engine type is 616/1, the even number of the blocks is 546.

Full mechanical overhaul of the engine, e.g., bearings, machining, Mahlen pistons, cylinders, machining of covers, flywheel, clutch…

An electronic current distributor has been installed in the engine.

The gearbox is original 716 25282 128/16-0, the ball bearings were replaced during the gearbox inspection. The bearings at the ends of the drive shaft were also replaced.

Last road inspection (MOT/TUV) was carried out on 7/2022, valid in Finland for 4 years as a museum vehicle. It will have a fresh road inspection (MOT/TUV) prior to sale.
