Porsche 911 SC Rally Car
Description
Porsche 911 SC Rally Car
FIA HTP — 3.0 Flat-Six — 5-Speed Rally Gearbox
A properly prepared, FIA-documented historic Porsche 911 SC rally car, ready for competition or further development.
Offered for sale is this 1978 Porsche 911 SC, chassis/VIN 9118302216, professionally converted and prepared as a historic competition GT car in 2010. The car has a valid FIA Historic Technical Passport (HTP), FIA Class GTS37 valid until the end of 2026, and is eligible for FIA-sanctioned historic events subject to the regulations of the individual event. FIA Passport can be renewed prior to sale if required at an extra cost.
This is not simply a road-going 911 with a few rally modifications. It has been purpose-built for historic rallying, with a competition engine, rally gearbox, Bigem suspension, safety equipment, fuel system and rally instrumentation.

The suspension has covered only approximately 50 km of special-stage use and the engine has covered approximately 100 km of special-stage use since its rebuild. The car was last rallied in September 2023.
The current setup is configured for gravel rallying, although it can readily be converted for tarmac use.
CONDITION & INSPECTION
The car was inspected by Classic Data Finland in March 2020. Their report describes the body as sound, with the typical cosmetic wear expected of a rally car.
The supplied Classic Data inspection specifically confirms that the chassis number stamped on the vehicle corresponds with the available paperwork and that the car has been built for historic rallying.
Importantly, the inspection found:
- No signs of major accident damage or major body repairs
- Generally sound body
- Paintwork largely sound with consistent colour
- Typical scratches and stone chips from rally use
- Greatest cosmetic wear around sills and wheel-arch areas
- Engine compartment in good overall condition
- No broken parts visibly identified during the inspection
- No noticeable oil leaks at the time of inspection
There is some known wear: the inspection notes that the driver’s door is heavy to close and does not match perfectly with the rear section of the left-hand body.
This is therefore a genuine competition car with appropriate signs of use—not a freshly restored showroom replica.
DOCUMENTED VALUATION
The supplied appraisal records an overall condition of 3+ (three plus) and a market value of €90,000.
An earlier section of the appraisal gives a realistic market-value range of €60,000–€80,000 for a condition-3 example, this being a 3+
Extensive spare parts are also available separately.
